In addition to house and grounds cleaning, we’ll be working to clean up the demolition of the old tractor shed. For those who are interested in helping with the demolition, please bring work boots. The day will begin at 8:30am and end at 4pm, with a potluck lunch at 11am. Just come on by if you’re interested; no need to RSVP.
Anagārika John Heads Off
Anagārika John headed off last week with plans to continue his training in Thailand. He was very helpful to the monastery during his time here, especially with the monastery’s many carpentry projects. Our best wishes go with him on his continuing journey.
Ajahn Dtun’s Visit
A highly respected and revered Thai Forest teacher, Ajahn Dtun, will be visiting Tisaraṇa from Sunday, May 19th to Wednesday, May 22nd. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet one of Thailand’s most treasured living meditation masters. He is currently the abbot of Wat Boonyawad, and teaches 40-50 monks.
In addition to teaching on Vesak (see above), Ajahn Dtun will also be giving two Dhamma talks, on May 20th & 21st, around 8:30pm after each evening puja. Evening puja begins at 7pm. It consists of traditional chanting and group meditation. Please arrive well before 7pm, so everyone can be seated silently before the chanting begins.
