Important Information – Tax Receipts and Canadian donations.

Dear valued supporters,

On behalf of Tisarana Buddhist Monastery, the Sangha, board and residents, please accept our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and friendship.

The purpose of this announcement is to bring to your attention important information relating to Canadian donors and tax receipts issued by Tisarana.  

• Cash/cheque donations sent by Canada Post, courier services or through the donation box at the monastery must be received on or before 5 pm on 30 December 2025 to be eligible for tax receipts issued for FY 2025.
• Donations received after that date will roll over to FY 2026.
• Donations received by Canada Helps, 31 December 11:59 pm (or as otherwise advertised by Canada Helps, which automatically issues tax receipts).

Please note, donations from non-Canadian sources are not eligible for tax receipts as per Canada Revenue Agency stipulations.

As a general note for Tax Year 2026 and onwards, Tisarana Buddhist Monastery will be unable to issue tax receipts for PayPal donations or Interac eTransfer donations due to administrative reasons.  We request that all Canadian Donors use our dedicated donation platform, Canada Helps. 

All information is available on the monastery website under the Financial Contributions section. Setting up monthly or one-time payments via Canada Helps is seamless and would greatly help our volunteer accounting team. 

This initiative has been designed to minimise errors relating to tax receipts, and we would be extremely grateful for your understanding and cooperation.
