Donations are used for requisites of the ordained sangha and residents, construction and maintenance projects, special events, expenses incurred while hosting monastics, monthly running expenses, and general upkeep of Tisarana.
Please note: If you are a first-time or recent donor residing in Canada and if you file taxes with the CRA, we request you kindly send us your full official name and complete postal address via email to to create a donor profile. Unless we create a donor profile for you, we will be unable to send you tax receipts for your donations.
There are several ways of offering financial support. Here’s how you can donate:
You can make a one-time or monthly donation to the monastery using your credit card, debit card (e.g., Visa Debit), PayPal, or Google Pay via our CanadaHelps donation form or by searching for Tisarana Buddhist Monastery on the CanadaHelps website. We encourage regular donors to use CanadaHelps so that tax receipt errors are minimised. Regular donors are also advised to create an account for themselves with Canada Helps. CanadaHelps issues tax receipts instantly.
The Monastery accepts donations via Interac e-Transfer. Please note that this option is only available if you are sending money from a Canadian bank account. Interac e-Transfers can be sent to this email id – . We have set up auto-deposit, so no passwords are needed. Kindly use this method only if you are unable to use CanadaHelps. These donations will not be tax-receipted from 1st January 2026 onwards, due to administrative constraints.
Cheques and cash can be deposited in the Dana Box at the monastery. Please follow all instructions posted near the Dana Box so that we can send you an official tax receipt, which will be issued at the beginning of the subsequent tax year. You can also send us a series of post-dated cheques or a one-time cheque donation by mailing them to:

Material needs vary. Please visit the Food & General Items: Dana page to find out what is currently needed. When donating groceries and other items, you can submit your store receipt for tax purposes. Please ensure that your name is written on each store receipt. Then, write your full name, postal and e-mail address on the envelopes provided, enclose your store receipts, seal the envelope and place it in the donation box. Tax Receipts for these donations in kind will be issued at the beginning of the subsequent tax year.
